Girls Night Out!

Tonight was fun! I first went to dinner with my roommates Katie and Sarah and their two friends Kirsten and Erin, who are both super nice too! they are both living in nyu dorms and doing internships as well. Then we had a little pre-party with some reisling ;) and cocktails at our dorms with the same girls plus a girl from across the hall named rachel. They are all super nice! then we went and met up with some boys that Erin and Katie and Kirsten had met the other night. we went to this bar pretty close to us called Professor Thom's bar, which was pretty happening haha the boys were all super nice---there was a group of them and they all have paid internships at Bloomfield!! crazy finance guys....i was wishing one of them would be like really hot haha but they were all pretty cute--one guy goes to college at uc santa clara which is on the quarter system so he took all his finals early but has to go home like every night and do homework! crazy! his name was max hahah....one guy name steve would not stop bragging to my friend rachel and i about how amazing his undergrad business program at virginia university was--i guess its number one now instead of warton, big whoop! he was like i got into berkeley's too but i wanted to stay on the east coast (but you can't get into  berkeley's business school unless you go there or apply as a transfer so obviously he doesn't know his stuff :) )anyways so we stayed there for awhile and just hung out....darina introduced me to a new drink that taste like creme soda! its vanilla vodka and ginger ale--yum! Cooper and Thomas wanted to meet up later--they wanted me to come with them to the gay bars! i totally wanted too but they were going like uptown and we were downtown and it was super late and i didnt want to go by myself, so we all just went back to the dorm and had a major feast! --candy, eggs, cereal, grapes, peanut-butter chocolate bars you name it hahah until like 3 am....but we are all planning such fun things this weekend! yayyy!

wow i think just the title already says it all...and obviously shows that i had a greattt night tonight!! hehehe so anyways after i made myself the best dinner--fettucini mushroom from trader's  (gotta love frozen dinners woo) and then got a total sugar high after eating wayyy to much of my dylan's candy hehehe i went with Darina to her friend Maria's apartment where she had a little pre-party before going out! we made "skinny margaritas" --i guess they drink them on the real housewives of nyc hahah and then we went to Babel--a like hookah bar/just regular bar in soho where Darina's friend was a dj....and they had these mini little cupcakes by some girl called "baked by melissa" www.bakedbymelissa.com and oh were those dangerous haha darina, her friend anna and i just kept going back because they were so small yet delicious! they had red velvet, cookie dough, cookies and cream, smores, vanilla tie dye, and peanut butter and jelly.....and THEN! someone is just like i guess someone famous is here and were like omg who, and its a guy so obviously he has no idea of the amazingness of ryan gosling in the notebook, so he's like oh i dunno some guy from the notebook and then i saw it was ryan gosling!!! he was just like chillin by the bar (and it was a pretty small party so we were all kinda there together) and we totally got a picture with him! and he was like get in here to all of us...putting his arm around muah :) and i totally touched his back! haha and then he was like "it was really nice meeting all of your girls" (i swear he gave me a little love squeeze ;) ) he was wearing the hottest outfit too....but anyways so we were at this bar for awhile and it was fun to meet all of darina's friends--half of them were like 30! and then Cooper had told Darina and I about some party at a hotel/bar because he knows like all the club promoters so we decided to stop by, it was at the 60 Thompson hotel...but we were there for only a little bit because the promoter guy was a total jerk! like he didn't even care that we were cooper's friends....so then we all called it a night (even though it was like 2:30 :) ) and i went back to my room and ate allllll of my dylan's chocolate candy bars oops....but it was a super fun night!!

a day of heavens

so today was definitely a day of heavens (i.e. my future homes i decided for the rest of my trip, screw nyu dorms, i'm living on 3rd ave between 63rd and 62nd so i can be between hot and crusty and dylan's candy bar :) ) anyways so today was blah weather again! ughh hate it, but that didn't stop my total adventures of course. so i decided to make the whole trip out to alexine's favorite place "hot and crusty" haha and OMG was it worth it or what! that place had the most amazinnng cookies and treats but most of all i had the biggest and i decided tied with the best blueberry bran muffin i have ever had! (tied with the one from flo's brentwood farmer's market hehe) but anyways got that muffin and just walked through central park eating it....ahh such a beautiful morning! there were all these kids on their way to a carnival going on right in the middle of the park with all these rides, i wanted to join them haha but i couldn't because i had a stupid appointment with nyu optometry because i ran out of contacts and had to get them refitted ugh and i totaaalllyyy got lost going to the place so i was like 30 min late! whoops hahah but the lady was totally nice and it only took like three min...then i went back to dorm and made some lunch (so economically friendly :) ) well i needed that because then i went and dropped $30 on candy! before going to dylan's i headed over to the chrystler building and did a little gossip girl spotting in grand central station, but enough of those boring sight seeing.....OH MY GOODNESS dylan's candy bar is by far the greatest place on earth no joke!! i literally just found myself smiling and hyperventilating throughout my like hour i spent in the store....i have never seen so much of my favorite things in life (i.e. candy hehe) well three chocolate bars (smores, cookies and cream, and malt milk chocolate), and three full bags of bin candy later (one bag of jelly beans, one bag of my sweet/sour bin candy, and one bag of chocolates) i was fulllyyy satisfied! i even went up to the cafe! and tried all their amazing ice cream flavors (i only tested because it was too cold outside haha and expensive after those $30 spent on the candy) so i pretended that "my mom was downstairs" and bolted after i tried like 5 spoonfulls haha oops ....then i preceded out of the store and ate my whole entire chocolate bag and realized that this candy was not going to last me long :( even though the guy in the store exclaimed as he felt the weight of my bags that i "wow, did very well!" hahaha but so i ate my chocolate covered cookie doughs and malt balls and chocolate covered gummi bears, graham crackers you name it....then felt a little sick not gonna lie hahah so i went to fao schwartz :) and then what more could heal my stomach but some yummy boba! went to st.marks place and got lychee green tea with boba yummmmm.....then so tired that i went back to dorm and talked for like three hours with my roommate katie--i really like her she's so fun and nice! and we are planning suchhh fun things! now i got to get ready for the night yayayaya going out with darina (and possibly natasha bedingfield's brother she said!?? ) will definitely update tomorrow woohoo!

Another Good Day :)!

once again even though i keep a journal i am already forgetting what i do all day because i do too much! haha but anyways on to day four! (the days are already going by too fast :( ! )

so it was misting again today, blah hate this weather! but another farmer's market in union square yesss with such yummies. I went to pink berry's open house today and had an interview with their manager about a job--they said they would contact me within a week ughh i want to start like now though! haha but then i went over to times square and met Darina because we bought student rush tickets for a matinee showing of 39 steps!--the longest running comedy on broadway and it had won a tonnn of awards! so we got second row tickets like right in the center for only 26.50! steal! so before the show we went to a little russian restaurant that Darina loved called uncle vanya (its after a broadway play) and it was soo good and homey :). then we made it just in time for the show which was really funny! the people around us were laughing soooo hard hahah but i was so excited because Darina wrote down all of her favorite plays for me to see :) So i planned to go to an interview at abercrombie and fitch at 5, but i had an hour, so i survived my first sample sale!!!! it was a charlotte ronson sample say and they had such cute stuff!! i bought a shirt and skirt that were like 50% off it was crazzyyy :) i guess next week there is a tory burch sample sale so me and my roommates are going to go, but i need to make some money hahah Then i went to Abercrombie and Fitch for an interview for modeling and there were soo many people there--it ended up taking like an hour and a half! but basically, since the hollister store wouldnt open until july, i would just be helping out with stuff to promote the store--like recruiting which is what i want to do--basically i would get paid to just walk around new york! looking for some hotties ahah maybe a good way to meet a hot guy! but i met a girl there who goes to nyu and is living in the dorms for the summer so we are hoping to work together! wow was i tired after that, but i had to run home because Darina invited me over to her apartment for wine and pasta! it was just a few of her friends and we just made a ton of yummy pasta and drank wine :) her apartment is sooo nice! Then of course we haaad to go out haha so we went to st. mark's place, a really fun area, and actually went to a belgian bar--omg and everyone was of course eating fries and mussels just like holland! they even had mayo! i loved it haha but they had amazing beers--i dont even like beer but i just had to get one, so i got a leffe blonde because it had the words "sweet and citrus" in the description haha and i guess they are like double in strength wise compared to other beers....then we went to some other bar but were all kinda pooped so we called it a night, but it was super fun to meet and hang out with darina and her friends!! oh and i met another girl on my floor who is adorable, i'm so excited because this weekend we are all going to do something fun! --the girls on my floor are all super fun! yayyy but everyone works during the day :( except one of my roommates is only three days a week so we can hang out during the day....

Explore City-Day Numer Three

So i find that my days are seriously soo busy that i forget half the stuff i do! but anyways.....So i didn't wake up as early as the previous mornings but i was a little tired from the night before haha but started my morning with a run that Cooper told me about around Washington Square and Union Square (it was good because its making me more and more familiar with my surroundings) and i had to pick up my NYU id card yay! and then i stopped by to look at the gym that we can use which is super nice--met a nice girl there who lives on the 10th floor of my building... then i went back to dorm made some lunch and on the go again! i decided to go to ground zero and explore that area--went to the world financial center (hopefully my future working home :) ) and of course had to check out wall street and the stock exchange. then i took the subway up to west village and had to get some coffee to warm me up--it was cold today!..omg and then! crazy haha but i got stopped by two girls on the street because they wanted to see if i wanted to model for the new abercrombie and fitch/hollister store opening in soho...so i was talking to them for a bit, but it turns out that the store wont open until july  when i leave :(...BUT, they said they i could do recruiting like they do, so i might go in for an interview tomrorow! a job just walking around the city would be awesome :)! then i continued my mission to try the marc jacobs accessory store again and although it was suppper crowded again, it was of course a success! i could have bought everryttthing!! haha but i got a cute walet/purse thingy, a key ring, and shirt yayy....then i decided sporadically to take the subway up to the museum of natural history, which was amazing!!! i could not believe how big the museum was, there was too much to take it/see!! i loveed it....it was cool because they had a whole area on astronomy so i basically knew it all from my class at berkeley....gosh soo much walking again and they days go by so fast! so i went back to dorm....I made dinner for the first time in my kitchen! haha and then i was going to go out with darina, cooper, and thomas, but they ended up not being able to...but cooper texted me that there was an anti-prop 8 rally going on in union square so i went down to join him--it was crazy, so many people! then back at my dorm i met the girl who lives across from me and it turns out her roommate went to newport harbor and is my age! i totally know of her because i think she was friends with ncl people...so i told the girl i met that when she comes back we should all hang out! since i wasnt going out with cooper and darina and thomas i just hung out at my dorm with my roommates and their friend....can't wait for tomorrow--another busy day!

Night Out with Darina, Cooper, and Thomas!!

So tonight I met up with Darina, Cooper, and Thomas and had the BEST time!!! It was soo much fun! so i had never met cooper or thomas but we all bonded right away--i think because sien got along so good with them :)--anyways so we planned to get drinks at bbq, but first went and got burgers for dinner-yummy, super casual--and we were just all talking away the whole time! then we went to bbq and got the bestttt drinks ever--of course the GIANT 20 oz drinks haha--i got a raspberry pina colada, darina got a mango one, and cooper got a blue bull margarita and thomas got a strawberry one--then were seriously amazing i ended up drinking it soo fast haha so of course we had to get the extra shot, because the boys claimed that the drinks weren't strong enough and they had already gotten an extra one...so darina and i both got extra shots and cooper and thomas were trying to teach me to take shots better (i need to get better haha) oh those drinks were sooo good....but we just had to go to asian pub afterwards! so we sat outside with the cute lights and ordered a round of fabulous lycheetinis while eating the stale chips :) Then both cooper and thomas had to leave because they had work in the morning :( but darina and i went to crocodile bar because she heard that you got free pizza if you ordered a beer haha aso she met one of her nyu friends there and he got the beer and we got the pizza, but the guy ended up giving us two whole pizzas! so darina and i both ate a whole pizza to ourselves haha it was soo good....then we went back to union square--darina hopped on subway and i went back to dorm....such a great night!!!

Second Day Exploring the City :)

So i had the BEST start to my second day! Woke up early and jumped on the subway to Central park and joined the massive amounts of runners and ran ALL through the park! it was sooo nice....i just kept on running and ran for an hour! then walked around a bit people watching through the parks and the fun trails. Then i went back to union square where there was a farmer's market with some yummy food. Then i got ready to start my day! I walked through Washington Square a bit, looking at the NYU buildings, and also on a mission to try tasi delight--i ended up walking to three! haha because the first was closed, the second didnt have good flavors, and i finnalllyyy made it to the third where i got rice pudding (i know sounds gross but it just tasted like vanilla it was good) and peanut butter. Definitely CANNOT replace golden spoon or yogurtland etc, but i just had to try it...so then i ate my fro yo in the blazing hot weather and shopped all through SOHO--omg they have the most amazing shops, and i bought my first items from ny!!! i bought the cutest jewelry pieces off of the street (a snake ring, locket necklace, and bracelet) and i already put them on :)! Then i continued to walk, realizing i walked through soho and noho and greenwich haha so then i stopped at a little park to write in my journal (slash put on bandaids because of course i had blisters) then i was on a mission to find magnolia cupcakes (i remembered it was close when i went with mackenna :) ) but it ended up being a little farther haha but whatever because i got to see my dream houses through west village etc. and of course the marc jacobs accessory store was on the way! (but SOOO crowded i couldnt even walk in it...so i plan to go tomorrow) omg and then i totally just walked casually pass celia from america's next top model! she looked exactly the same it was hilarious. Finally made it to cupcakes, then took the subway up to central park and had a little picnic, everyone was just laying outside it was so nice and columbus circle was just bustling with people--love the energy :). then i went back towards home because i needed to do my must needed trader joes run--oh my gosh i have never been to a more crowded trader joes it was ridiculous! but i made it out alive luckily...and then i started to get ready for the night....

First Day in NYC!

So I have finalllyyyy arrived in the BIG APPLE! After a very longggg red eye flight, I arrived early in the morning to my dorm. First one there, I got all my stuff unpacked, so much more room than Berkeley haha....I met my other room mate and her mom, she is a senior and is from uptown NY and her name is Sarah, super nice! Then, even though I was dead tired, I had to get out and explore! First stop, barnes and noble for a much needed journal and map of the city. Then of course Pink Berry, where I filled out an application to work there! I have to go to an open house to have an interview and will hopefully get the job (free yogurt!!!) Then I just started walking....and walking...and walking...mostly along 5th avenue...getting a little lost along the way, but ended up in Madison Square Park where I sat for a little bit...then took the metro to Times Square, crazy as always!...walked alllll along the street because they had a flee market going. By the way, the weather is SO NICE! i mean SO HOT but i loveee it :)! at least now i do haha....so finally I gave into my body and had to get a nice largeee iced coffee (from McDonald's to fulfill Flo's request, and yes it was oh so delicious)...then headed over to Rocketfeller center and the best part of 5th avenue (SAKs, tiffany's, trump tower, bergdorf, must i say more?) Took a little break and decided since it was sunday that i would pop into St. Patrick's Cathedral and ended up staying for the rest of mass...it was in Spanish! haha but i stayed through communion and everything...then i decided to relive my past a little and go to American Girl Doll Place...omg so funny...they had a place to hold your doll in the restroom stalls!! crazyyy. More walking, past Plaza hotel...to central park where I sat a little and wrote in my journal...then off to Walgreens and Duane Reace for much needed supplies, it started raining on my way back! but still like 80 degrees....then a fabulous dinner splurge at Whole Foods (whoops :) only this once) Met my other room mate and her mom, all sooo nice! invited me to dinner but I had already ate, but tomorrow might meet up with Cooper and its a new day, can't wait!!
